To the mission of the North Texas Recovery Foundation to eliminate financial and funding barriers to persons seeking recovery from alcoholism, and drug addiction..
The North Texas Recovery Foundation, a 501c3, exists for the sole purpose of supporting addiction treatment providers with monetary means to offer individuals and families means to be admitted to and complete addiction treatment and counseling even when they have no means to do this on their own.  We offer financial help to fund treatment expenses for people seeking recovery from alcoholism, drug addiction, including prescriprion drugs in Dallas, and the North Texas area.

This might not look the same as it once might have.  While we still have the people "under the bridge" with the brown paper bag, regular folks like you and me deal with this terrible disease on a daily basis.

Did you know that:
The state of Texas spend 16.4% total budget on "addiction" related issues.  However, the criminal justice system gets 95.7% of that and treatment, prevention and research get just 0.3% 

Did you also know that:
out of the approximately 315,000,000 Americans,
129,000,000 use alcohol
50,000,000 use prescription drugs for non-medical purposes
15,000,000 use marijuana in past month
  1,676,000 use cocaine
  1,264,000 use hallucinogens
  1,018,000 use stimulants (this is low)
    123,000 use heroin (also low)
    539,000 use inhalents
Current estimates indicate that as many as 25% of Americans suffer from addiction issues.  Since the crash of 2008, people and families have had issues that ordinarily would not have.  When presidents of companies are suddenly unemployed, we can expect all manor of addictions and other issues.
Further, one half of Americans from all income brackets said they could not afford alcohol or drug treatment if they or someone in their family needed it, (Center for Substance Abuse Research, July 13, 2009.)

That is why only 1.6% of the US population received treatment for addiction last year.

Although our website is a continuing "work in progress, we offer news and education from the field and ways you can help us make sure everyone in North Texas can obtain treatment . 

The primary way you can help is through your generous donations. Also, we would invite you to attend and support our 2nd Annual Italian Car and Motorcycle Festival on October 24, 2010 at the Arlington Convention Center.  This year we are featuring approximately 100 Italian Cars including Ferrari, Masserati, Lamborghini and others.  We always need volunteers and avenues we can spread the word about addiction and recovery.
